Habens were appointed to carry out the installation of a new underground 10,000 litre fuel separator tank adjacent to the existing diesel pump on behalf of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service. The project was spread over two locations in the New Forest, Hampshire beginning at Lyndhurst Fire Station following onto Hardley Fire Station respectively.
At both Fire Stations the main works involved the installation of a new underground 10,000 litre fuel separator tank adjacent to the existing diesel pump. Both sites also had linear drains installed to intercept any fuel spillage and direct via new below ground drainage and chambers to the tank. There was also drainage pipework exiting the tank and connecting to the existing foul drainage network at a new chamber. At both sites the tank was installed within the utilised drill yard, therefore localised reinstatement of the yard was required to ensure this could remain operational.
The project commenced November 2020 and completed January 2021. Works on site were managed by Groundworks Site Agent Robert Wilson and Contracts Manager Martyn Hodges.
