Following the Construction Leaderships Council’s theme, “Build the Future”, for National Apprenticeship Week 2022 which is taking place this week from 7-13 February.  We recently spoke to our apprentices, including our Apprentice Administration Assistant Mollie Brooks, about her journey so far.

Mollie has been working for DM Habens as an administration apprentice since July last year. She loves everything about being an apprentice and says she’s happy she has chosen to do an apprenticeship over going to University.

“Being an apprentice means I can get use to the working world and study gaining a qualification at the same time as earning and getting real life experience’.

The 18-year-old is enrolled on to the Level 3 Business Administration Course, which is being delivered by Portsmouth College.

As an administration apprentice, Mollie carries out valuable project support for our projects, estimating and site teams. This involves creating Construction Phase Plans & Health and Safety Files, supporting the estimators with tender & quotation support, as well as preparing Signage, Site Boxes and First Aid boxes. In addition to this Mollie helps ensure we continue to achieve our ISO Management Standards in Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety by carrying out weekly compliance audits.

Prior to joining the Habens Team last summer, Mollie worked part-time as a customer assistant after completing a two year course in Advanced Level 3 Health and Social Care.

We are thrilled to have Mollie on our team and she has quickly become a valued member of the office.
