Project Overview

Habens were appointed as the Principal Contractor by Portsmouth City Council to carry out  works  to Cliffdale Primary Academy Early Years Building, Portsmouth under JCT Design and Build Contract. Cliffdale Primary Academy is a Special school providing integrated education and care for
children with special educational needs. The Early Years building is for children aged 2 to five years.

The scope of the work includes significant demolition and alteration/adaptions to create new enlarged rooms as well as more minor works to modify and
create new doorways into rooms and the like. The refurbishment works provided the following accommodation:

• 3 New Classrooms.
• 2 Group Rooms.
• 2 Hygiene Rooms
• 2 Pupil WCs
• 1 Staff WC
• 1 Medical Room
• 1 Staff Office
• 1 Room for Soft Play
• 1 Room for Sensory Integration
• 1 Cleaner Store

As we were working within an occupied school environment, we ensured all reception room and noisy works were completed in the Easter holidays. The existing electrical, mechanical and below ground drainage systems within the existing school building were modified to suit the refurbished spaces.
